GatheringUs is the place where communities gather to support each other and remember their loved one.The microphones for all guests have been muted. For those on video, there are two view options, Speaker and Gallery. The Speaker is the main view and your screen will default to this view each time there is a new presenter. You can switch between views by pressing on “View” in the top right corner. If you are on a mobile device, you can swipe to the left to change the view. For those on a tablet, like an Ipad, the “Switch to Gallery View” button can be found on the top of your screen. If you or anyone you know has any technical difficulties during the event please contact our technical support team by calling or texting: 240-608-6037. Please note that this event is being recorded.

At this time, we open the space for guests here today to share a memory. This can be a story or memory that makes you smile or is special to you.If we were all together today this would be like raising your hand and passing the microphone around the room. So if you would like to publicly share please raise your hand. There are two ways to raise your hand. First is to use the raise your hand feature in Zoom. To do this click on participants and then the raise hand icon is in the bottom left of the participants panel. Or, we invite you to can do this the old fashion way and wave your hand in the video, our staff will call on you by name and ask you to unmute your microphone. You can also share here, in the chat. The chat will be shared with the family as a virtual guestbook.

I'm Connie's grandson Brody. There are a few things I can think of that really define who she was.The first is all times she came and rescued me from breaking my finger or getting sick at school to spraining my ankle during a soccer practice. Both my Mom, Peggy, and Dad, Jim, work full time so they couldn't always pick me up but she was always ready to come and would be there as soon as she could. She was an immenselyloving and caring Grandmother. The other memory was the look in her eyes when she gazed into the crater at Haleakalā in Maui.It was the realization of her dream to visit Hawaii and it brought her immense joy and peace.A moment that will forever remind me to remain positive, no matter what the world maythrow at us.
