For those on video, there are two view options, Speaker and Gallery. The Speaker is the main view and your screen will default to this view each time there is a new presenter. You can switch between views by pressing on “View” in the top right corner. If you are on a mobile device, you can swipe to the left to change the view. For those on a tablet, like an Ipad, the “Switch to Gallery View” button can be found on the top of your screen. If you or anyone you know has any technical difficulties during the event please contact our technical support team by calling or texting: 240-608-6037. At this time, we open the space for guests here today to share a memory. This can be a story or memory that makes you smile or is special to you. If we were all together today this would be like raising your hand and passing the microphone around the room. So if you would like to publically share please raise your hand. There are two ways to raise your hand. First is to use the raise your hand feature in Zoom. To do this click on participants and then the raise hand icon is in the bottom left of the participants panel. Or, we invite you to can do this the old fashion way and wave your hand in the video, our staff will call on you by name and ask you to unmute your microphone. You can also share here, in the chat.

<3 to all my George School and Chalfonte friends. Anne was the glue to bringing together my love of GS and Cape May - my husband reminded me just now that we got married behind the Tin House, so really Anne helped bring together all the loves of my life for many decades.

As a member of the Class of ’65 at George School, I have always treasured the experience of having Anne as a coach and mentor. I can’t imagine how many games she coached us and, as so many mentioned, I always felt she cared deeply about each of her players. I remember being a bit in awe of her fame as a hockey player and coach and when we went to training camps, EVERYONE else at the camps knew Anne and we learned how famous and important she was in that world! Sadly, I did not see Anne nearly as much as I would have liked over the last 30 years or so except for alumni days. She will be missed but certainly not forgotten! What a lovely gathering of others who experienced such a wonderful relationship with this amazing person. Thank you for sharing so much more about her!

My Mother & Father met on a beach in Cape May, and my mother was a waitress at the Maycomer Hotel (?). Somehow, she got connected with Ann & The Chalfonte. Whenever my parents went back to Cape May, they would make sure to stop & visit Ann. Then, I ended up at Ursinus, and she resurfaced in our lives through Athletics. After graduating, I interviewed for the George School job that Nancy took. Ann asked me point blank if my intention was to stay there at the High School level or move on to college? I told her while I would love to be mentored by her, yes, my goal was to go on and coach at the collegiate level. So, I told her Zurnie would be the right choice! And what a great duo they were at George School! What a great coach, mentor, and friend she was to each & every one of us! Thanks Ann, RIP! <3

Soon after I received word of Anne's passing, I felt numb, but also felt prompted to ask the Holy Spirit a pertinent question:

Thanks everyone for your shared experiences and memories of Anne. She was an amazing coach and mentor. What an advocate for women's sports! I always valued her interest in politics and international issues. I'm afraid I have to go.

"Where is Anne?" Anne and I had been in communication the last half year or more as I shared with her my Girls Athletic Association picnic memoir where I shared about a life lesson Anne had taught me summed up in one word: "ANTICIPATE!"

Wow. There are so many unique memories of Anne! I remember one of the guys "borrowing" Anne's dress that was hanging to dry in the laundry room and wore it for skit night. An amazingly patient woman underneath that gruffness. And what boss have you ever had that would let you get a keg of rolling rock and drink at liberty in the Chowder Hall? And in the days before cell phones, And you can't forget Ann yelling Jim's name clear across the property to find his latest "hiding" place@" Thanks for everyone sharing their amazing stories of Ann!! I listened within and immediately heard three very comforting words: "She's with Me." I asked the Lord to confirm this word to me. I went to the gym that day to work out and while doing so listened to a podcast, which contained a confirmation of those three comforting words. Then later that day, I was listening to show where a woman was sharing a personal testimony. It didn't have my attention until she said, "Anticipate!" Then she said it again! Then again! I blurted out loud, My heart warmed! That's when a vision I had had a few days earlier suddenly made total sense: It was of a much younger Anne with all brown hair vigorously playing singles tennis. I sensed the Holy Spirit confirming that what I had seen was a vision of Anne playing tennis in Heaven! Yay God! Anne, I miss you a lot but am deeply comforted that good-bye is only temporary and I'll see you again one day! With love, Evelyn Hoopes Wright. '76

Anne always encouraged me in all my sports as did Judy also. I so appreciate having amazing coaches and surrogate moms during my High School years. She has had a lasting effect on my life and my children lives because of her lessons she taught me Thank you for putting this together..

I knew Ann at GS and the Chalfonte. She took an interest in all of the Garrison girls (4) ...some of us more athletic than others. She also got to know our mother Bett and came to her memorial service.

Anne had been a part of my life since I was three years old. She helped my mother plan my birthday parties by the Tin House, taught me to ride waves and tolerated my misbehavior over my six years of working at The Chalfonte. Thank you Anne for your understanding, patience, knowledge, acceptance, and love.
