Psalm 121 New King James VersionI will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps IsraelShall neither slumber nor sleep.Thee LORD is your keeper;Thee LORD is your shade at your right hand. Thee sun shall not strike you by day,Nor the moon by night.Thee LORD shall preserve you from all evil;He shall preserve your soul.Thee LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming inFrom this time forth, and even forevermore.

At this time, we open the space for guests here today to share a memory. This can be a story or memory that makes you smile or is special to you.If we were all together today this would be like raising your hand and passing the microphone around the room. There are two ways to raise your hand. To use the Zoom feature, click on participants and the raise hand icon will appear on the bottom left of the participants panel. Or, if your video is on, we invite you to do this the old fashioned way and wave your hand in the video. Our staff will call on you by name and ask you to unmute your microphone. You can also share here, in the chat. The chat will be shared with the family as a virtual guestbook.

Charlotte was so special to my mother, her fist cousin. Mom (Ruth Grant DeGrow) and Charlotte were known as the twins as Charlotte just 8 days older.
Alexa Ramier
Charlotte invited me into the family and made me feel like a real grand child and my brother and I both appreciated that and loved her, she really was an amazing grandma
Dylan Treon
She had a memory for details. Incredible memory.

What a wonderful family. We were blessed at FUMC Glen Ellyn to have Char, and Fred, in our church family.

Lest we forget, Charlotte was such a connector. She made sure that the Swett extended family knew her children and their families, and that the Swett’s and Walters shared holidays and summer gatherings, and that everyone’s histories were honored. Dylan, she never forgot a detail

It was an honor to grow up with Mrs. Walter/ Char in my church family. So many programs and projects like CROP walk and Walk In MInistry were started or shaped by her caring heart, and we had so many great conversations about a life of service. It was also an honor to pack her up to move to Oregon. Her main focus was to get photos and genealogy to her children and grandkids- with packets for everyone! She also did an amazing job of closing out her main projects here in Glen Ellyn- we sent items to GE History Museum, and to 1st UM Church. She had such intelligence, and caring and follow through for her sense of justice and that has been a huge inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing Char with us! She is such an example to me.

I was very moved and happy to be a part of celebrating Charlotte’s life. I remember many sleep overs in Glen Ellyn and of course Charlottes charming way of documenting family events. She was irrepressible!

It was wonderful to see the clan and friends of Charlotte tonight. I wish I had remembered to say how beautiful she was, and how her smile was like a brilliant light beam. I always felt blessed when I earned one from her!
Thank you for inviting us to this lovely memorial. Memories of Charlotte bring smiles. She was a wonderful member of our church family. Doris and Susan Purdie
